1. Introduction
United for Life has a slogan which runs, ‘Abortion is never safe because abortion always kills a child.’ . Clearly there is no such thing as ‘safe abortion’. Nor is there such a thing as ‘safer abortion’ or ‘safest abortion’. Abortion is always an act of killing children. It is never ‘safe’ to kill children. United for Life will demonstrate that the same thing goes for sex - there is no such thing as ‘safe sex’ or ‘safer sex’, ‘protected sex’ or ‘un-protected sex’.
The NHS started its programme of immunising girls with the HPV vaccine from September 2008. The NHS leaflets and promotional material calls young girls to ‘arm against cervical cancer’. The NHS have also produced a TV advert which suggests that the vaccination can just form part of the every day life of a school girl - like having toast for breakfast in the morning, cleaning her teeth, going to school, playing netball and having the jab.
As with the promotion of contraception, those who use contraception tend to think they are less likely to get a sexually transmitted disease or less likely to become pregnant. However, the reality is that the more someone uses contraception, the more they expose themselves to potential contraceptive failure and the more they expose themselves to the consequences they are trying to avoid. In fact, abortion and sexually transmitted disease rates have risen hand-in-hand with the ever increasing rate of sex education programmes in schools, condom promotion, contraception, and the offer of abortion services.
When people think they are safe or protected they could engage in activities they would otherwise avoid. The promotion of HPV vaccines and immunisation programmes could follow this same trend and could arm girls for more diseases - not less.
2. What the experts say
United for Life believes that HPV vaccines and immunisation programmes form part of the same misguided sex education, contraception and abortion policy of the past, which has devastated millions of lives.
- Dr ES Williams, former Director of Public Health Medicine, Croydon, Surrey, in his book entitled, Lessons in Depravity , he states that,
-
If the purpose of sex education has been to protect young people against the damaging consequences of sexual activity, then it has been a spectacular failure. However, if the real purpose of sex education has been to promote the sexual revolution, as I argue in this book, then it has been remarkably successful.
- Under the section 'Parental Responsibility' he continues,
-
...it is the responsibility of parents, Christian and non-Christian alike, to teach their children a moral framework on which to build their lives ...those children who have been taught about chastity and self-control gain no benefit from being told about contraceptive techniques and how to be prepared for sex.
Most promoters of sex education keep telling us that our nation and the rest of the world will not solve the problem of HPV, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases or solve the problem of unwanted pregnancy, until there is mandatory sex education in schools, more contraception used, HPV vaccination programmes, and more freely available abortion on demand. However, an article by Dr ES Williams, published in the British Medical Journal , shows that contraceptive failure, not lack of sex education, as ‘...a major factor in teenage pregnancy’, since 80% of pregnant teenagers claimed to have been using contraception at conception.
Clearly, the term ‘sex education’ suggests telling people how to engage in sexual activity and what to do with the consequences such as unplanned pregnancies, and how to ‘avoid diseases’. Sex education programmes often suggest the use of condoms and other forms of contraception and offer the killing of children by abortion as an ‘option’. However, abortion and sexually transmitted disease rates have risen hand-in-hand with the ever increasing rate of sex education programmes in schools, condom promotion and the offer of abortion services.
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology, RCOG, in making their submission to parliament in relation to the 1967 Abortion Act, published in the British Medical Journal, April 1966, showed that in the UK there could never have been more that about 14,600 abortions per year. However, on average, there have been about 200,000 abortions per year with a total of 7,000,000 (7 million) abortions in the UK alone since the 1967 Abortion Act came into force. These figures are not enough for the promoters of so called ‘sex education’ because the promoters of sex education want abortion ever more freely available, with ever greater access. However, ‘ever greater access’ has always led to more abortions - not less. This trend has been no less the case for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases and could become the trend after the implementation of the HPV vaccination programmes.
3. Are HPV vaccines safe ?
The organisation LifeSiteNews reports that the HPV Vaccine - Gardasil - 18 Dead, Thousands Suffer Complications - July 8, 2008 , and that the Controversial HPV Vaccine Causing One Death Per Month: FDA Report and "Many experienced outbreaks of genital warts from the HPV vaccine." - July 3, 2008 .
- According to the articles from LifeSiteNews, and in addition to 'thousands suffering complications', it states that,
-
‘140 "serious" adverse reactions, including 27 "life threatening" cases, 10 spontaneous abortions, and 6 cases of the debilitating Guillain-Barre Syndrome reported since January 2008.’ .
- The CBS News Channel has a news clip on YouTube raising concerns on the safety of the HPV vaccine Gardasil based on the report by Judicial Watch, June 30, 2008 . Although the American organisation Judicial Watch reports on the HPV vaccine 'Gardasil', its report should be read by all who promote or are considering the use of other HPV vaccines. In addition, the NHS leaflets and promotional materials claim that,
-
‘Hundreds of thousands of young women in the USA and other countries have already had their vaccination.’
In other words, the NHS is promoting the use of its own version of the HPV vaccine called ‘Cervarix’ on the back of the USA experience without reporting the claims of deaths of young girls in the USA.
- The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, MHRA, claims on its own website that although its own immunisation programme uses ‘Cervarix’, they also state that,
-
‘Another HPV vaccine called Gardasil is also licensed and on the UK market outside of the national immunisation programme. The MHRA is also responsible for monitoring the safety of Gardasil vaccine.’
The NHS, after claiming that, ‘Hundreds of thousands of young women in the USA and other countries have already had their vaccination.’ in promoting their own HPV vaccine the NHS promotional leaflet then makes the surprising statement that, ‘Studies have shown that the vaccination is very safe’. Some claim that these deaths and serious illnesses are not proven to be as a consequence of receiving the HPV vaccine. However, the question that arises is, ‘How many deaths and serious illnesses of young girls are required for an established link ?'
A YouTube video entitled: Gardasil Eugenics Experiments on Girls (Part 1/3) , reports on international problems with polio and other vaccines, including Gardasil, and exposes what government research facilities are up to. The video shows evidence from the FDA and explains that the HPV vaccine "...is not a cancer vaccine" as advertised but a vaccine against the human papilloma virus, and that, "...HPV alone can not cause cancer." You can view Part 2/3 and Part 3/3 from these links.
- Concerning cancer and the HPV vaccine, in regard to Merck, the makers of Gardasil, the Judicial Watch report states that,
-
'Merck scientists not only did not bother to study cancer, they do not even know whether their own vaccine is carcinogenic. In a report to the FDA on testing protocol, Merck wrote that, "Gardasil has not been evaluated for the potential to cause carcinogenicity or genotoxicity." One would think that any cancer vaccine that has
been approved by the FDA ought to at least not cause cancer. Given that Gardasil works by causing spontaneous reactions and cell mutation, its potential to cause cancer is certainly a matter that warrants further study.' pg 8 JW Report
- and that,
-
'...it has been impossible to ascertain whether it will actually prevent cancer because the testing period has been so short.' pg 13 JW Report
- Concerning harmful effects to the unborn human foetus the Judicial Watch Report states that,
-
'If it was Merck’s intent to examine the vaccine on pregnant women, it is interesting that in its
briefing to the FDA Merck reported, "It is not known whether Gardasil can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women." ' pg 9 JW Report
- Concerning breastfeeding the Judicial Watch Report states that,
-
"A higher number of breastfeeding infants (n=6) whose mothers received Gardasil had acute respiratory illnesses within 30 days." pg 10 JW Report
The report also claims that the placebo used in the trials contained 225 mcg aluminium which in itself can potentially cause adverse reactions thereby statistically failing to flag up possible adverse reactions to the HPV vaccine - pg 6 JW Report . The HPV vaccine can stimulate very severe reactions and stimulate other forms of HPV if the girl already has an HPV infection. However, authorities seem unwilling to test girls for HPV before administering the HPV vaccine - pg 6 JW Report . The HPV vaccine also seems to have some adverse effects when given ‘concomitantly’, that is, given at the same time or concurrently, such as with meningitis, measles, mumps or rubella vaccines, yet the Judicial Watch Report claims that Merck has not tested for these except for a vaccine for Hepatitis B - pg 8 JW Report .
Parents, school authorities, and especially young girls themselves, should realise that giving the HPV vaccine is to actually give them a version of the HPV virus. The HPV vaccine gives these girls a version of what would otherwise have been a dose of a sexually transmitted disease. There are claims that a number of the girls vaccinated seem to be getting genital warts and warts on their face, hands, feet, and chest - pg 5 JW Report . The question then arises, 'Will these ‘vaccinated girls’, who will have a version of HPV in their bodies, pass on HPV to the men they then have sex with, or pass HPV on to any unborn children ?' We have yet to find out.
4. Governments and HPV authorities seemingly value boys more that girls
- According to the US Department of Health & Human Services website, under the heading, 'HPV Vaccine for Boys? It Just Might Happen' , it states,
-
'Now researchers are looking into whether the vaccine should be given to boys as well, both to prevent the transmission of HPV, and to prevent the rarer, but no less deadly, cancers that can occur in men from the virus.
"There is probably no reason to think it would not be effective in boys, and because HPV is passed back and forth, immunizing a large part of the population would limit transmission," said Dr. Jonathan L. Temte, associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
"However, we're still very early in the life span of this vaccine. It's been less than a year since a recommendation was issued. It is premature to discuss giving it to boys until there's proof of its efficacy," added Temte, who also serves as the American Academy of Family Practitioners' liaison to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.'
The Government and HPV authorities think it’s OK to give the HPV vaccine to girls, even though the vaccine is still in its '...very early ..life span', but think it is not suitable to give to boys, for the very same reason they think it’s OK to give it to girls. In other words, experiment on the girls first and if the HPV vaccine works on the girls, then give it to the boys.
5. Condoms, Governments and HPV vaccines
Governments, sex educators, and others, have been wrong in the past. The following shows how misunderstanding could potentially have devastating effects.
- The University of Texas, in ‘A course about making decisions, evaluating information, and knowing what to trust’, in Chapter 6 it states that, ‘Condoms are made to withstand the rigors of sex. But the models used by governments to test condom durability have nothing to do with sex.’, and that under the subheading entitled, 'Models of STD transmission', it states,
-
'Even if the models used to test condoms are reasonable indicators of whether a condom will break during sex, and thus whether they will function adequately in preventing sperm from reaching the female's reproductive system, but they may be rather poor indicators of whether a microscopic pathogen can pass from one partner to the other. For example, the water test can detect holes only as small as 5 mm, but this sized hole is many times the size of sexually-transmitted viruses and even of the bacterium Chylamidia. Similarly, the airburst test is insensitive to small holes. So here we find new limitations of existing methods of testing condoms: these models don't give us a good understanding of the barrier to pathogens afforded by a condom. That is, these models have serious limitations when considering condoms as barriers to infectious disease.’
As stated above, the more someone uses contraception, the more they expose themselves to potential contraceptive failure and the more they expose themselves to the consequences they are trying to avoid. However, abstinence never gave anyone a disease; abstinence never made anyone pregnant.
United for Life has produced a webpage entitled, Could Condoms Leak HIV , which is also downloadable as a leaflet in PDF format.
6. Sex Educators and their failures
It has been over fifty years since governments in the UK and around the world have promoted the fallacy of sex education while stubbornly refusing to promote abstinence. Sex education has the self-fulfilling cycle of failure because as it fails - the cry is ‘more of the same’. Governments, sex educators and others, fail in their role of educating young people on personal and sexual safety and fail to promote the dignity of the person if they advocate the use of contraception or offer the killing of children by abortion as an option and refuse to promote abstinence only education.
The Abstinence Clearing House provides evidence that abstinence education really works.
The publication entitled: A Consumer's Guide to The Pill and Other Drugs , by Prof. John Wilks B.Pharm. MPS MACPP, shows how contraception, including condoms, really fail.
The American Life League shows How The Pill Kills .
The Heritage Foundation provides two reports, one of them entitled: Comprehensive Sex Education vs. Authentic Abstinence - A Study of Competing Curricular , and the other entitled: Teens Who Make Virginity Pledges Have Substantially Improved Life Outcomes , both demonstrating the success of abstinence.
Project Reality gives answers to the question - Does Abstinence Education Really Work? .
7. Contraception pollutes the environment
In addition, governments, sex educators and others, must actively address pollution of the environment, including water supplies, drinking water and soil, by estrogens from contraceptives, including the Pill, the morning-after-pill, and other chemicals,
which has shown to change the sex of fish.
- The European Commission has funded research by EDEN into the disruptive effects of estrogens in the water supply. In May 2005 EDEN produced The Prague Declaration on Endocrine Disruption , which states that,
-
' Fish exposed to the contraceptive pill ingredient at concentrations found in European rivers showed disturbed sexual development and impaired reproductive capabilities at the adult stage, including reduced or inhibited egg production and egg fertilisation, hindered release of semen and lower survival of their offspring.'
- Regarding unborn human life the Declaration continues,
-
...' Genital malformations, testis cancer, and some cases of reduced sperm quality arise early in life, even during development in the womb. These conditions have common causes during reproductive organ development in the foetus, which is controlled by hormones. The concern is that endocrine disrupters may interfere with these processes to disturb male genital development during pregnancy. Similarly, hormonal dysregulation may lead to the formation of breast cancer in women and abnormal pubertal development in girls.'
- The BBC On-line News article, 10 July 2004, entitled: Pollution 'changes sex of fish' , states that,
-
'Hormones in the sewage, including those produced by the female contraceptive pill, are thought to be the main cause' and that, 'A third of male fish in British rivers are in the process of changing sex due to pollution in human sewage, research by the Environment Agency suggests.'
One of the easiest reports to read on this issue is by WorldNetDaily, 12 July, 2007, entitled: Birth-control pills poison everyone . Another good introduction to the issue is The Pill as Pollutant - A really inconvenient truth by Iain Murray, National Review Online, 22 April, 2008. According to Water Encyclopedia , chemical pollutants in water can have concentrations of 1 part per billion yet this concentration changes sex of fish, while in drinking water concentrations can be 1 part per trillion.
Contraception clearly pollutes the environment. In addition to hormonal contraception condoms also pollute the environment. Condoms are disposed of in landfill sites, by incineration or through the sewage system and get into marine environments. It has been estimated that up to a 100 million condoms per year in the UK are being disposed directly into the sewage system according to a report by the Marine Conservation Society which has also launched its 'Don' t Let Go!' awareness campaign highlighting the impacts of balloons on the environment. If there is concern over the environmental impact of party balloons then there should be an even greater concern over the environmental impact of condoms and the environmental impact of hormonal contraception.
The evidence shows how a contraceptive lifestyle impacts on the environment and that governments, sex educators and others need to address these human life and environmental disasters. The use of contraception is correctly identified as an eco-crime and United for Life believes that if the Government can ban smoking on health grounds or fox hunting on animal rights grounds it can also ban the use of contraceptives on health, human rights, and environmental grounds.
Governments, sex educators, HPV vaccine promoters and others, must accept that NFP - Natural Family Planning - is eco-friendly, woman-friendly and human-life-friendly. What’s more - it really works - to protect the environment and for the number and spacing of children. Contrary to popular myth contraception and sterilisation are not required for the number and spacing of children.
- WOOMB International , the natural family planning organisation, in its statement to the United Nations in June 2001 , states that,
-
'Women have embraced the Billings method regardless of their socio-economic status, culture or religion. It is easily understood by all - the blind, the illiterate, those living in absolute poverty and those members of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups identified in the Habitat Agenda. There is no cost to health or purse in the teaching or practice of this natural, eco-friendly method. Women and governments are free of the costly complications of contraception.'
Contraceptives treat women’s natural menstrual cycle as if it is a disease to be prevented by attacking her body with carcinogenic environmentally destructive chemicals. However, natural family planning is eco-friendly, woman-friendly and does not destroy a human life.
United for Life urges governments, sex educators, HPV vaccine promoters and others, to embrace WOOMB's eco-friendly outlook on human life which is in keeping with the environmental claim of Friends of the Earth to ‘...make life better for people.’
8. Conclusion
Governments, sex educators, HPV vaccine promoters and others, have got to get a reality check, stop their obsessive self-fulfilling cycle of failure, accept the growing evidence of the harmful side-effects of HPV vaccines as illustrated by reports from LifeSiteNews and others, accept that HPV vaccines could arm girls
for more diseases - not less, and accept that abstinence never gave anyone a disease and that abstinence never made anyone pregnant.
United for Life shows how the killing of children by abortion, contraception, human embryo experimentation, IVF, human cloning and related activities, are modern forms of slavery, destroy the environment, and how human rights apply.
Find out how these activities violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on Slavery, the Convention on Genocide and a number of Conventions, and how human embryos have human rights .
