Introduction

The Roman Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have called for a discussion with the laity on marriage and family life at parish and diocesan level in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the UN Year of the Family.  United for Life, which is dedicated to raising greater awareness of human life issues, would like to contribute to that discussion.

Our contribution will focus on what we see as the threats to marriage and family life both nationally and internationally.  An appendix and a leaflet are included with this publication.

We call upon the Church and all its members to uphold the Church's teaching on marriage and family life.
