Christian Aid

Christian Aid strongly supports the use of condoms.  Recently the Church of England published a report for the General Synod meeting on HIV/AIDS.  The discussion papers claimed that abstinence-only programmes have little impact and that Christian Aid research suggests sex education and access to condoms delays sexual debut.  United for Life provided a response to General Synod on the issue of HIV and condoms.  A copy of this can be downloaded in PDF format from the Campaigns page of the United for Life web site.  In addition, The Church of England Newspaper published a letter from us on this issue.  A copy of this letter is included in the Appendix of this publication together with a letter from Christian Aid to United for Life dated February 23, 2004.  Dr ES Williams has also produced an excellent critique of the Christian Aid report 'Dying to Learn' which we highly recommend - please see reference for details.⁽²⁶⁾
